Borderlandia's Sonora Route through Bacanora & Sahuaripa

Dates: April 12-15, 2026 (3 nights / 4 days) from $1,095.00

Dive into the distillation process in the Sierra Madre with Borderlandia and meet the people directly involved in spirit production on this special itinerary to the namesake town of Bacanora.

Departing from Nogales, and based in the capital city of Hermosillo, we will spend two nights - the first and final - taking in the city’s cosmopolitan life. On our second full day, we will head east to uncover the roots of agave culture in northwestern Mexico at its source. The second night will be in Sahuaripa, the land of the Mexican Jaguar, just up the road from Bacanora, where we will stay at an old mill converted into a bed and breakfast.

You’ll get to know the producers, learn about their process at three different vinatas, take part in tastings, enjoy the local gastronomy, and experience the beautiful denomination of the origin region, home of this Sonoran spirit.
