Raicilla Smugglers is a feature documentary currently in production in Jalisco, told through two timelines that braid together the past and the present: today’s raicilla makers working by hand in remote mountain communities, and the era when raicilla was illegal, moving along hidden trails and coastal runs.
It’s part history, part adventure, and fully human, a story about ingenuity, risk, and the communities who carried raicilla forward when it had to stay out of sight.
